Argh...

My computer is completely dead. I am writing this from Chads laptop which will not let me get photos or do anything other than play solitaire and surf the web, so until my computer is fixed, I will be on hiatus. Please email me if you would like to fix my computer, otherwise I will be bringing it in for repair.

My computer is all messed up. I'm going to probably have to bring it in. I don't think it's a good thing when you can hear the rrrr rrrr rrrrr of the motor when you try and run anything and it takes 10 mn just to turn the damn thing on.

Sorry, I'm frustrated. I just finally got the thing to function after screwing with it all day, so....

Anyway, I had 3 pics left in my "to post" folder, so here they are. I don't have time to be clever and so I'm just going to say that these are of Bobalu playing with his Pokemon cards (thank you Kaplas) and a couple close-ups of Monkey.

We brought him to see Santa today! If I ever get my hubby to bring home a scanner, I'll have to show them to you all :)

Presents from Grandpa Jeff...

Grandpa Jeff got me blocks and a new sweatshirt for Christmas. Here are a couple of pictures. Never mind that pink bunny. That was my Moms when she was little...
Mom finally set up the Christmas tree too. I've been pretty good about staying away from it because I don't really like how the prickly needles feel on my head.

Handy Husbands...

I have such an awesome husband. He can fix ANYTHING...

Case in point, the vaccuum cleaner died on us a few days ago and he just took it apart, messed around with it (I'm sure he has more technical terms for what he did) and viola! It's all better.

Right now he's in the garage changing my oil and filter too.

We have such a traditional relationship in that regard and I guess I always kind of rebelled against that, but if it works, it works.

Besides, if I had to rely on him to feed us....ehhhh.....

Christmas Cards...

Most of you should be getting your Christmas cards today. Sorry if I forgot anyone. For the past 2 years, I've used our guest list from our wedding as my address book, but this year I couldn't find it. I'm sure it's in the crawl space or the basement or somewhere, but I think I got almost everyone.

2 teeth and Little Christmas Eve

I forgot to post it earlier, but I'm the proud owner of 2 new teeth. The first one I told you about, but the 2nd one came in sometime early Saturday morning. Kept me up (and my parents too) all night.

We celebrated Little Christmas Eve with my Grandpa Jeff, Mary, Grandma Rae and Auntie Sue on Sunday and that was a lot of fun. Or it would have been if I hadn't been so crabby. I had a few happy moments, but mostly I was just really crabby because of the new teeth, lack of sleep and all the running around.

I'm all better now. I just have a little cold, but that should clear up in no time :)

My day in photos...

Got up this morning and got dressed and went to playgroup at Holly's house. It was her birthday!!! Monkey wore his new red sweatshirt that he got from Grandpa Jeff...

We got home and made lunch for Grandpa Jim. We had tuna melts and I even tried one. Still not a fan of tuna, but at least it didn't make me gag this time...Grandpa Jim spent the day working on the house again. We would be lost without him. He is a godsend...

I picked out paint colors for the bathroom, bedroom and possibly an accent wall in the living room. I'm probably going to have to slowly talk DH into that one or just do it when he goes out of town in Jan or Feb. I have a feeling I'm going to start enjoying these week-long trips that he takes every year ;) Hehehe....JUST KIDDING HONEY!!!

Monkey and I played with his new toys today and I took a bunch of pictures. I even managed to get a picture of the 2 of us in there before his sticky fingers started reaching for the lens...

Jim also helped me pull the tree out of the crawl space today, so I got that set up. I didn't do the whole decorating thing this year because #1 I lost my mantle :( and #2 I don't want everything to get ruined with all the construction, so I just set up the fake tree with the white lights and pine cones and threw a pc of red garland on it and the ornaments we got from Dad and Mary on Little Christmas Eve...

I made "leftovers" pasta for dinner with some prosciutto, red pepper, pine nuts, basil and bleu cheese and it turned out nicely. The kids love "leftover" pasta...mmmmmm

Here's a picture I took during dinner time of our french door. This is actually a reflection...you can see me on the left with the camera and all of us sitting around the table with the tree in the background :) Not the best picture ever, but I thought it was kind of cool...

2 Teeth, No Sleep & Little Christmas Eve...

I'm pretty much running on fumes at this point. It's been a LONG week. Monkey cut his first 2 teeth this week, one right after the other and so has not slept AT ALL...
He was up on Friday night from midnight until 4 am, so I pulled a 22 hr fun-fest that day/night/day and then had to get up early on Saturday so that I could get my grocery shopping done for today.
Oh, and then we had a party to go to last night and didn't get home until 1 am and thenMonkey was up until 2 and then up for the day this morning at 7. DH tried to let me sleep, but I just laid in bed listening to all the noise in the house and didn't sleep at all. Plus, I had SO much to get done this morning so we could get to my Dads house by noon.
We celebrated Little Christmas Eve today with my Dad and his girlfriend Mary, my Grandmother and my Aunt Sue. It was a great time.
I made a stuffed pork tenderloin, roasted sweet and red potatos and a "fancy" salad. It all turned out really well *phew!*. I love spending time with the Morts. Wish we could do it more often...
So anyway, I forgot my camera today :( HOWEVER, my Dad just bought a new digital camera, so I'm hoping that he sends me some pics or at least uploads them so that I can link to them :)

So tomorrow I've got a full plate and I should really just get to bed so that I can function tomorrow, but that would be sensible and I guess I'm just not very sensible these days...haha

Christmas Shopping & Cards...

I went Christmas shopping with my Mom today and I'm basically finished. The only things left are gifts for my husband...still don't know what to do there....and an outfit for Bobalu.

He fell in love with an argyle grey and red sweater a while ago and I've been trying to find it again, but nobody stocks xmas clothes this late in the year!!! What the heck is that?!?!?!

Bobalu is my little preppy boy. I saw a really cute suit today, but I don't know....I did good enough on my budget for his gifts that I could splurge and spend $60 on an outfit, but he's 7! The way he grows and the fact that he's so rough on clothes makes me cringe when I think of buying anything for him over $10. Is that terrible???

I just wanted to find him that goofy sweater. I'm probably going to have to compromise and get him something else, and that makes me sad because I just should've bought it when I saw it, but what do you do.

I hate that retailers expect you to buy all your xmas stuff in October. Screw that. I want to enjoy my Halloween and Thanksgiving and not have to worry about this stuff until it's actually relevant.

Argh.

Sorry...I think I'm just burnt out because of all the shopping today.

On a happier note, I did finally get the picture taken for the xmas cards so hopefully they'll get out on time. Ran out of paper, so that's another errand I'll have to run tomorrow before we go to the party at the Johnsons.

I think it turned out ok for doing it last minute and not having a scanner...next year it'll be much better :)

My little actress...

Ms. Pipps was in her school play tonight. She had 3 different parts and did very well in all of them. I'm really proud of her and how hard she worked.

We are taking a break from after school activities this Tri though because her grades and chores have been sliding and we have the C rule here at home. She's disappointed but she loved doing this so much that I think it's given her incentive to do better in school.

She's turning into an incredible young woman. I'm really really proud of her :)

My First Tooth!!!

I got my first tooth today. After a few days of crabbiness, it finally broke through!
I've been chewing on stuff and feeling it all day long.

I like to grab stuff.

Well, it's official. I'm into EVERYTHING!!! Mom and Dad are planning on buying me baby-proofing stuff for Christmas. Hopefully I can ruin a few things and get my fingers into a few sockets before they take away all the fun.

Book Club Tonight...

I didn't really love this book. It was sort of just another story about some southern gal with messed up parents who happened to perservere and write a book about it.
Why are all the memoirs these days about junkies dealing with sobriety or kids from the south with messed up parents??? I don't get it. Let's come up with something new people!!!

I think my favorite "memoir" is Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. We're reading that one in March I think...If you haven't read it, please do. It's so funny you'll have to read it on the toilet so you don't pee your pants!

Big Boy Bathing

One of my favorite things to do has always been taking baths, showers, getting wet, etc.
I took my first big boy bath recently and LOVED it.
I like blowing bubbles and trying to get the plug in my mouth. It's a lot of fun.

Tiles and Vanities and Flooring, OH MY!!!

I love that we're building onto our house, that we can look at our house and say "I did that" or "Grandpa Jim did that" or "Pipps helped mud that wall" :)
BUT, I hate trying to do something that I have no clue about. Like tile. I hate tile. I will no longer see any tiled surface as cool or neat...I will from this time forward look at tile and say "Oh my god, I bet that was a royal pain in the ass to put in" or "Where did they find those trim pcs???" or "I hate tile. Tile makes me crazy"
Anyway, we found our tile with the help of my wonderful and invaluable Mother and her fabulous hubby Jim. However, we have to FIND THE TRIM PCS today!!
So that is our agenda today. Woohoo!
I did FINALLY find my vanity yesterday. I LOVE it and am excited that it will work in our bathroom and we didn't have to find something custom made. Lowe's is my new favorite store!

Happy Birthday Grandma Dorothy...

Yesterday was my Grandma's birthday.
She was born in 1925 which makes her 82 years young.
The kids gave her a call last night and sang Happy Birthday for her.
She's a pretty neat lady.

First Real Snow Fall...

I took Monkey outside yesterday while I was shoveling so that he could experience his first real snowfall. He was pretty amazed. Just sat in his stroller watching the chunky flakes drifting down.

They kept falling in his eyes, so I turned him around and then they were landing right on those sweet lips of his. He LOVED that. He stuck out his tongue just like a big kid and "ate" snowflakes for a good 10 minutes before he was ready to go in.

It's amazing how with children you get to experience that wonderment all over again. I'm so lucky that I get to do it all the time. I have such great kids :)

Really, I swear...

Ok, so today I was thinking that I REALLY need to start keeping up on my pics, if nothing else, than just so I'm not sifting through 500 pics at the end of every month and I have SO MANY of the SAME PICTURE!!!
That's my fault really...testing out my camera, getting used to all the different ways it's so magical ;) Ok, so I'm a dork, but I'm really digging the "new" camera. And yes, I've had it almost a year, and NO, I still don't know how to use it 100%.
I digress....
What I was meaning to say was that STARTING TODAY I was going to take care of all my pics and start going back to my picture of the day.
So I start deleting the "crap" and get the cable out so I can start the hellishly long process...

My battery dies

I only have 1 battery

Because of the f#$^ing house construction, I can't find my battery charger. I called my husband and he just sighed because I'm always misplacing the damn thing, so...

Tomorrow I'm going to start putting aside time EVERY DAY (except maybe wkends) to upload a photograph.

I swear! I really mean it this time!!!
